Hsinchu, Taiwan-based Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) today announced that net sales for September reached a record high of $760 million (25.2 billion Taiwanese dollars), 8.9 percent higher than September 2004 sales of $698.1 million (23.2 billion TWD), and 8.8 percent sequentially higher than (23.2 billion TWD) in August.
Revenues for the nine months from January through September were $5.5 billion (183.4 billion TWD), 4.5 percent lower than $5.8 billion (192.117 billion TWD) for the first nine months of 2004.
“Due to continued demand recovery from our customers, wafer shipments for September increased over August,” explained Lora Ho, VP and CFO of TSMC, in a statement.
