Intel is now forecasting Q2 revenues higher than the range previously expected by the company. The new forecast calls for revenues of between $9.1 billion and $9.3 billion as compared to a previously forecast range of $8.6 billion to $9.2 billion. The higher range is primarily driven by ongoing strong demand for notebook products, the company said in a statement. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company expects its gross margin for Q2 to be 57 percent plus or minus a point as compared to the previous expectation of 56 percent, plus or minus a couple of points. In addition, Intel said it expects gains from equity investments and interest to be about $100 million, significantly higher than the previous expectation of about $70 million. |
