Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) is pleased to announce that its group of five Vishay-owned and independent Precision Centers is available to serve the needs of design engineers, purchasing agents, and others looking for small quantities of Vishay ultra-high-precision Bulk Metal® foil resistors. The Precision Centers — located in Malvern, Pennsylvania; Sterling, Massachusetts; Houston, Texas; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Ontario, California — use standard Vishay-approved manufacturing procedures. The facilities provide delivery in up to three days, do not have any minimum-order requirements, and will provide resistors at any tolerance available within published resistance ranges.

Bulk Metal foil technology outperforms all other resistor technologies available today for applications that require high precision and stability. Vishay’s new Z-Foil technology provides a significant reduction of the resistive element’s sensitivity to changes of temperature due to ambient temperature variations (TCR) and to self-heating when power is applied (power coefficient of resistance or PCR).

Key features of Bulk Metal foil resistors include the following:

Power coefficient of resistance (PCR) of 5 ppm at rated power for Z-Foil resistors

The Precision Centers manufacture high-reliability precision resistors based on the Bulk Metal foil technology pioneered and developed by Vishay. Products based on this technology are the most suitable for a wide range of high-precision and high-stability applications in military and aerospace systems, automatic test equipment (ATE), current sensing, down-hole equipment, precision scales, laboratories, high-precision amplifiers, high-precision instrumentation, high-end audio equipment, and medical products and systems.

By maintaining a stock of foil resistor chips, the Precision Centers will precisely calibrate your order and deliver the product in as little as 72 hours. The Precision Centers utilize Vishay-approved procedures to produce resistors with the high quality and performance for which Vishay has long been known.
