Market research firm Lehman Brothers added its two cents to Advanced Micro Devices Inc.’s legal filing against Intel Corp., saying its estimates and ratings on both companies remain unchanged.

AMD Tuesday filed an antitrust complaint against Intel, seeking damages for losses and recompensation, as well as litigation to stop Intel’s alleged monopoly and open the market. Lehman Brothers says this process may persist into 2006 and beyond, as AMD attempts to increase its presence in the corporate client PC market following on its success to date in two- and four-way enterprise servers.

The firm’s views the legal action as generally positive for AMD in terms of raising its profile and recognized that it may adversely impact sentiment and increase scrutiny longer-term toward Intel''s business.

Near-term, AMD CEO Hector Ruiz said in a statement AMD''s business is strong across the board, but Lehman Brothers retains a constructive bias toward the company.

AMD is expected to report its earnings on July 12.

Separately, the firm looks for a solid Q2 report and an encouraging Q3 outlook from Intel, and says its INTC estimates remain conservative. Intel is expected to reports earnings after market close on July 19.
