8139 is PCI host interface, while 8029 is "port" interface.
to the RJ45(physical layer) viewpoint, there are same, even the transfer rate is not same, so we call it transparent.
what the difference?
given : your company develop network transfer, and recruit engineer with salary 1000(only a baseline), then you do more than half of the proj.
but , if PCI: you recruit engineer with more salary(twice times at least), you get not more than half of this proj
8139 is almost not suitable in embedded system due to so many pseudo engineers.
